September 2, 1960 - Eric Demetric Dickerson is a former American college and professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League for eleven seasons during the 1980s and 1990s. A six-time Pro Bowl running back, Eric Dickerson played for the Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders and Atlanta Falcons from 1983 to 1993. While with the Rams in 1984, Dickerson set the NFL record for rushing yards in a single season with 2,105. He was a four-time NFL rushing champion and selected to the NFL’s 1980s All-Decade Team. While in college at SMU, Dickerson teamed with Craig James to form the ‘Pony Express’ backfield. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
