September 14, 1940 - Lawrence Harvey "Larry" Brown is an American basketball coach, who is currently the head coach at Southern Methodist University. Before coaching, Brown played collegiately at the University of North Carolina and professionally in the ABA. He is 1,275–965 in his career. He is also the only coach in history to win both an NCAA National Championship (Kansas, 1988) and an NBA Championship (Detroit, 2004).
