August 7, 1976 - Edward Shane Lechler is an American football punter who currently plays for the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League. Lechler played college football for Texas A&M from 1996 to 1999. A nine-time All-Pro selection, Shane Lechler is the NFL’s all-time leader in career punting average. Lechler has played for the Oakland Raiders since being selected in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He was selected to the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team.
