Happy Birthday: Nomar Garciaparra

July 23, 1973 - Anthony Nomar Garciaparra is a former Major League Baseball player and current ESPN analyst. A six-time All-Star shortstop, Nomar Garciaparra played with the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics from 1996 to 2009. While with the Red Sox, Garciaparra won the 1997 American League Rookie of the Year award. He is married to U.S. women’s soccer player Mia Hamm. He is one of 13 players in Major League history to hit two grand slams during a single game, and the only player to achieve the feat at his home stadium.
