Happy Birthday: Roger Clemens

August 4, 1962 - William Roger Clemens nicknamed "The Rocket", is an American former Major League Baseball starting pitcher. An 11-time All-Star and seven-time Cy Young Award winner, Roger Clemens was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball history. During a 23-season career with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Houston Astros, Clemens recorded 354 wins and struck out 4,672 batters. He was a member of the Yankees’ teams that won the World Series in 1999 and 2000. After his retirement from baseball, Clemens’ trainer Brian McNamee claimed to have injected the pitcher with anabolic steroids, which was in contrast to what Clemens had testified to in front of Congress. Clemens was indicted under federal perjury charges in 2010, but found not guilty in 2012.
