Happy Birthday: Albert Belle

August 25, 1966 - Albert Jojuan "Joey" Belle is a former American Major League Baseball outfielder. A five-time All-Star outfielder, Albert Belle was a surly, intimidating slugger for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles from 1989 to 2000. Before a degenerative hip condition caused an early end to his career, Belle won five Silver Slugger Awards as the top offensive player at his position. He is one of six players in history to have eight straight seasons of 30 home runs and 100 RBI, joining Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx and Lou Gehrig, Albert Pujols and Alex Rodriguez. His angry outbursts included confrontations with the media and fans, including once throwing a ball into the stands at a heckler.
