Happy Birthday: Archie Griffin

August 21, 1954 - Archie Mason Griffin is a former American football running back. Griffin played seven seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals. The only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy as college football’s best player, Archie Griffin was a running back for the Ohio State University from 1972 to 1975. Griffin won the Heisman in 1974 and 1975. He was the first player ever to start in four Rose Bowls. After being selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft, Griffin played with the team for seven seasons.
