Happy Birthday: Jim McMahon

August 21, 1959 - James Robert "Jim" McMahon, Jr. is a former American football player. From 1982 to 1996 with the Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers. While often wearing headbands with slogans that poked fun at the league, coaches or opponents, McMahon quarterbacked the Bears’ team that won Super Bowl XX. McMahon was also a member of the Packers’ team that won Super Bowl XXXI. Prior to his NFL career, McMahon set 70 NCAA records at Brigham Young University, where he was twice named All-American. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
