August 18, 1968 - Brian Keith Mitchell is a former American football running back and return specialist in the National Football League. A three-time All-Pro selection, Brian Mitchell was one of the best return specialists in the history of the NFL. Mitchell played from 1990 to 2003 with the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. Mitchell’s 13 special teams touchdowns are second in NFL history, behind only Devin Hester, and he ranks second on the NFL’s all-time all-purpose yards list, behind Jerry Rice. Mitchell was a member of the Redskins’ team that won Super Bowl XXVI.
